Stampin' Up! Inspired by Nature Crafty Cupcakes team blog hop

Welcome to the Crafty Cupcakes Team Stampin' Up! Blog Hop for October 2017. Each month members of the Team take part in our Team Blog Hop to share with you our cards and projects made using fabulous Stampin' Up! products. You are currently visiting Wendy Porter, UK and below you will see the full list of everyone taking part. To move to the next blog just click the name after mine in the list.

This month our theme is Inspired by Nature.

This is a very timely theme, the leaves are starting to change colour, the birds are flying off to warmer climes and the weather is definitely changing. This week the UK has been beaten by a storm, so strong that it was named Ophelia (in the UK we only name them when they are going to be bad), and some places have experienced nature at her most ferocious.

Stampin Up Painted Harvest Count my blessings

For this month's project I made a thank you card for a dear friend.

I used the stamp sets Count My Blessings and Colourful Seasons for the sentiment.  I also used a sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series paper pack.

The design for this card, started off with the sheet of Designer Series Paper to be honest, those acorns are so lifelike and the colours really pop off the page.

I thought the acorns in the Count My Blessings set and those on the Designers Series Paper would be a perfect fit, I hope you agree.

Here is how I made this card:

Fistly I folded half a sheet of A4 for the card base.
I cut:
  • 1 x piece of Whisper White card, trimmed to 37/8" x 4"
  • 1 x piece of Designers Series paper, trimmed to 4" x 56/8th"
Then on the piece of Whisper White card,  I marked  1/4" down from top left hand corner and 1/4" across from the top left hand corner.
On  bottom, I marked 1" from bottom right hand corner and mark 1" upwards from bottom right hand corner.  Using my trimmer I cut between both of the marks from top to bottom.
I kept just the two triangles.

I adhered the lovely acorns designer series paper to my card base.

I stamped the acorns to fill to both of the two triangles using Crumb Cake. I applied a little touch of colour to the acorns with Crumb Cake and to the leaves with Pear Pizzazz.

Then I attach the two triangles on top of the Designer Series Paper, so that a channel of Designer Series paper is left uncovered down the middle.

I punched out a peep hole in the front page using the Sunburst stamp.

I stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White and punch that out also using the Sunburst punch.  I added some glue to the back then placed this piece into the punched out hole on the front of the card and closed the card so that the sentiment sat on the inside of the card.

I added a few pearls to decorate.

There all done!
